Itching for a little adventure and knowing I was too, Callista suggested we return to a nearby cloud forest. Yesterday was the perfect day for the adventure about 30 miles from home. We were able to enjoy all Bosque Nuboso El Cocora had to offer and return home before the afternoon rains hit our neighborhood.
As on our previous visit last September we began our adventure in the butterfly garden. The butterflies hatch from their pupas in the morning.

I find butterflies fascinating, enchanting and could sit and watch them for hours. Each rainy season we plant more of the plants they like to draw them into our yard.

After our time with the butterflies we walked in the forest. Once we entered a light rain began to fall. Talk about enchanting. We were all surprised when the manager brought umbrellas out to us. The light rain was refreshing but not knowing if it would turn into a down pour or not I was happy to have the umbrella to protect my camera!

In the cloud forest we enjoyed looking at various tropical plants and numerous orchids. The owners are doing a great job labeling the orchids they reintroduce to the wild.

Next we headed to the hummingbird garden. Bill knew I'd want to spend a lot of time with the hummies so we saved that for last. The umbrellas came in handy as I wouldn't have been able to get any shots without it. Callista and I both had red umbrellas causing the hummers to buzz our heads.

Watching the hummingbirds eat got us thinking about lunch. Since we hadn't tried the food here yet we decided to give it a shot. We had delicious, reasonably priced casados for lunch.

I didn't get a shot of my plate as was hungry and dug right in when it arrived but I did manage to get a shot of the menu while waiting for my meal.
Our return trip to Bosque Nuboso El Cocora was a wonderful way to celebrate the change of seasons. We've been twice now, once at the beginning of the rainy season and once in the heart of it. Hopefully we'll remember to visit again during the next dry season.
